"In truth, if we don't change now, our lives won't change. If we don't become better, our existence won't improve. And if we don't commit to steady progress, our lives won't improve in quality. And yet, most people wake up every morning still the same."
Hal Elrod – Miracle Morning
Author Hal Elrod explains that if we have a dream, an ambition, or a project we want to bring to fruition, we need to dedicate some time to it each day, and the morning is the ideal time. If we want to be happy and fulfilled in order to succeed in life, it's necessary to improve our personal development, and we can commit to this every morning. The question is: "Why work on this project in the morning?" Simply because starting the day in a positive and motivating way is crucial. Furthermore, according to scientists, our brains are more receptive to learning in the morning, which helps us avoid getting caught up in the day's rush.
This book enabled Mohamed Boclet, founder of Connaissance Illimitée, to become a three-time French mind mapping champion and world vice-champion of speed reading. But how can a book make someone a champion, and in what way?
Understanding and adopting the Boclet method effectively can become an integral part of your Miracle Morning routine.
1. The Miracle Morning: how does it work?
The principle of the Miracle Morning is to get up earlier. It's an opportunity to do what you don't have time for during the rest of the day. Getting up 10, 15, or 20 minutes earlier, for example, to do exercises that make you feel good, allows you to benefit from the cumulative effect: by repeating specific activities each morning, you create a habit that becomes beneficial over time.
The goal is not to reduce sleep, but rather to go to bed earlier in order to wake up earlier, while feeling productive.
Start each morning with 5 minutes of silence (like heart coherence breathing exercises: link ), recite motivating affirmations, and practice visualization by imagining yourself accomplishing what you wholeheartedly desire. Over time, your brain will believe that what you imagine is within your reach. Also, do some physical exercises (5 minutes to start), such as stretches, push-ups, or sit-ups. Write to externalize what you're feeling, then read for 5 minutes to escape.
Next, gradually increase the duration of these activities, especially reading and writing. You can also add other tasks that you don't have time for during the day (for example: listening to a podcast).
2. The 6 keys to personal development: the SAVERS
In his book, Hal Elrod defined six activities he considers particularly effective for improving our potential. These activities should be practiced for a few minutes each morning before resuming your day. They are the SAVERS :
- S to Silence : mastering and calming our consciousness, reducing our stress through meditation, prayer, breathing or reflection, and putting aside the negative aspects of our life.
- A to affirmation : repeating aloud phrases that motivate us until we are convinced of them.
- V to visualization Imagine what we want to become and visualize ourselves achieving it. The brain will eventually believe it.
- E to Physical exercise : practice exercises such as stretching, push-ups or abdominal exercises.
- R to Reading (reading): read at least a few pages of a book every morning.
- S to Writing Keep a journal in which you write down your ideas, projects, dreams, or anything else that comes to mind each morning. Also note what you are grateful for, what makes you happy.
The Miracle Morning method gives a real boost to your daily life and allows you to improve considerably. It echoes the famous adage: "The early bird catches the worm." Hal Elrod explains in his book: "Remember this truth: the present moment is more important than any other period of your life, because what you do today shapes the person you become. And this will always determine the quality and direction of your existence." This idea is similar to that of Paulo Coelho in The Alchemist , where he teaches us the importance of living in the present moment to envision a future aligned with our aspirations ( link ).
The Miracle Morning allows you to take time for yourself, to avoid becoming a victim of the frantic pace of modern life, which constantly pushes us to go faster. It reminds us that time is an essential resource for our well-being: taking the time to sleep, eat, reflect, exercise, read… these are moments we should give ourselves more often.
The Miracle Morning encourages gradual learning and a thirst for knowledge, a process similar to that which some have experienced through the Boclet method.
